Richard A. Starr

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Cleveland Ward 5 Democrat Leader Richard Starr served since 2018. Richard Starr, a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University, is the King Kennedy Club director and athletic director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. Richard Starr is running to become the next council member for Cleveland Ward 5.

Richard Starr serves on Faith Community United Credit Union, [1] Northeast Ohio Young Black Democrats, Book Bank Young Professionals, and The Telos Institute boards.

Richard Starr has been a tireless advocate for Cleveland’s residents.  Besides his work with kids at the King Kennedy Club and East Tech teen center, he has been a volunteer football coach and mentor to hundreds of children. Richard was honored as the “2019 Partner of the Year” by Shoes and Clothes for kids, in 2018 became Champion of Central by Cleveland Central Promise Neighborhood, in 2017 received the CultureShoc Buffalo Award, and named 2007 State of Ohio Youth of the Year from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Richard Starr is recognized as a leader in the Central community for his grassroots activism and his desire to be "The change that we all wish to see." During the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, Richard Starr continued being a servant. Richard organized Unity Peace March, Produce and Dairy biweekly distributions that total 42,000+ pounds of food. Richard has also distributed 2,800 masks and a handful of voter education initiatives, such as voter registration, phone banking, and robocalls for the presidential election in 2020.

This year's election is not about anyone but the People! We must vote local this year. "My Vote does not count!" is the old way of thinking, and it is regressive. All our futures and those after us depends on whom we place in leadership. STAND with Richard A. Starr and not just for him! All support will help! If you can donate the "Friends of Richard A. Starr'' campaign, that will help Richard Starr's positive change efforts!
